McGavock quarterback Kody McKinley signed an NAIA football scholarship with Bethel College on Wednesday morning.
McKinley, a 6-3, 160-pounder, threw for 1,873 yards and 23 touchdowns last fall while helping the Raiders to an 8-3 record and the District 12-AAA championship.
In the opening round of the Class 6A playoffs, McKinley had a season-high 372 passing yards and four passing TDs in a losing effort as McGavock fell to host Mt. Juliet 56-28.
Bethel, located near Jackson, Tenn., in McKenzie, compiled a 5-5 record last season and was 3-3 in Mid-South Athletic Conference play.
